ActionMailer doesn't set @template_format when rendering layouts

Reported by Josh Juster | January 26th, 2009 @ 07:32 PM | in 3.x

When creating a multipart message in an ActionMailer action that uses a layout, Rails will always render the template using .text.html.erb. However, it should respect the content_type of the original template.

I am seeing something similar in 2.3 also.

    app/views.layouts/foo.text.html.erb
    app/views.layouts/foo.text.plain.erb

For the multi-part mailer - it is always picking up and wrapping the each part with foo.text.html.erb

If I remove foo.text.html.erb, then it correctly wraps the text part in foo.text.html.erb. And the html part is unwrapped.
