Rails 2.3rc1 loads VIM temp files instead of intended files

Problem:
when editing a file like new.html.erb using vim, vim creates
new.html.erb~ as a temporary file. Starting with 2.3.0, rails will
load new.html.erb~ instead of new.html.erb
As a work around, cleaning up the ~ files is not hard but I'm
sure it is easy to exclude those files as well from the view
template search.
