#2514 ✓stale
James Kebinger

Patch - rake task db:structure:dump broken for postgres w/ multiple schema

Reported by James Kebinger | April 16th, 2009 @ 05:46 PM | in 3.x

When using multiple schemas in an application, one would list all the schemas separated by commas in the schema_search_path attribute of the connection. The structure:dump task should respect the schema search path and dump the ddl of the objects in all the schemas in the search path. This patch splits the search path on commas and adds a --schema= argument to pg_dump for each schema in the search path. This allows testing to work fine with tables spread across multiple schemas.

I don't have any test cases and wasn't sure how to test a low level rake task like this, but I'd be happy to take a whack at some if needed.

I'm currently using this patch in a rails 2.2.2 environment, but the patch was generated against master.
