Rails doesn't look for the best option in ViewPaths

I am modifying view_paths for the purpose of themes.
If I make a JS request and the first directory contains an html.erb file it will render that, instead of looking down the next directories to find a .js.rjs.
It would be nice if rails would search for the best option in all view paths.
