accepts_nested_attributes :allow_destroy => true EXTREMELY slow now

#5033

I recently updated my application to use the modified accepts_nested_attributes destroy option in my forms (updated from delete). Now, however, it is taking 30-45 seconds to execute update_attributes when destroy is included. These are updates that were sub-second prior to the upgrade to Rails 2.3.8. Forms that include a good number of destroy => "1" now take in excess of a min. to submit and process.
