add native support for varbinary in mysql

#5354

We'd like to use varbinary columns in Mysql. When trying to create a column using "t.binary", this defaults to a "blob" field. This causes other issues when trying to create indexes on these columns (as we cannot specify the length of the column to keep for the index).
