Rails 3.0.0RC: Partial render of an :object => Array acts like :collection => Array (repeats)

#5380

In my layout, I use:

 render :partial => @partial.to_s, :object => @object

If the @object is an array or a different collection (such as an ActiveRecord::Relation), the rendering will be repeated just as if it were:

 render :partial => @partial.to_s, :collection => @object

i.e. if object is [1,2,3] it renders:

partial view with 1
partial view with 2
partial view with 3

instead of:

partial view with [1,2,3]

Is anyone else getting this? - I searched and couldn't find a duplicate ticket.

or is :object redundant (now that we have :locals)?
