incorrect documentation about install ruby, rubygems and rubyonrail

Reported by dinesharora | September 24th, 2010 @ 06:35 AM

The web site rubyonrails.
The documentation at http://rubyonrails.org/download is incorrect. It says to install ruby and
then rubygems. Does not differentiate between versions 1.8.x or 1.9.x.

I downloaded and installed ruby 1.9.2, and following the instructions tried to install rubygems 1.3.7, which failed with a traceback.

Luis Lavena from rubygems explained that rubygems is already bundeled in 1.9.1 and 1.9.2. Does not need to be installed. Please update the instructions on download webpage.
