Cannot set :content_type on render :update
Reported by Bryan Larsen | November 19th, 2010 @ 07:08 PM
ActionController::Base completely ignores the
:content_type
attribute on this call:
render :update, :content_type => "text/html" do ... end
Yes, it's a very strange thing to do, but is necessary when using the iframe hack to do AJAX file uploads. If content/type is set to javascript, the browser escapes the html inside javascript. See http://malsup.com/jquery/form/#file-upload for more information.
