Adding around_(save|update|create|destroy) to an ActiveRecord::Observer causes action to fail

Reported by Chris Griego | March 14th, 2011 @ 05:20 AM

If you define around_save, around_update, around_create, or around_destroy on an ActiveRecord::Observer, then any observed classes' save, update, create, and destroy actions will fail respectively. This is because when the callbacks are registered, the blocks passed to around callbacks aren't propagated to the observer so they are never called.

This affects Rails 3.0+
