render_to_string changes Content_Type - regression?

I'm using Rails 2.0.2. Th old trac ticket 6073 is closed (fixed) but I have exactly this problem (I can't see the proposed diff in base.rb, too)

- State changed from “new” to “invalid”
Please update to edge and try again. Josh says its fixed in edge and there are tests to prove that. Reopen if you still have the problem on edge.
