starttls for smtp makes gmail go
Reported by Grant Hollingworth | November 6th, 2008 @ 04:18 AM | in 2.x
Gmail's SMTP server requires STARTTLS to be enabled. The action_mailer_tls plugin allows this by patching Net::SMTP. As of Ruby 1.8.7, Net::SMTP has this support built-in.
This patch calls Net::SMTP#enable_starttls_auto if available. When ActionMailer connects to an SMTP server that supports STARTTLS, it will use it.
