    I had the same problem. It was solved by setting reconnect:true in database.yml.

    ruby: 1.9.2
    mysql: 5.0.51a
    passenger: 2.2.15
    rails: 3RC1

    I have the same problem:

    config.action_controller.perform_caching = false

    in development.rb is ignored and caching is performed always.
