Return path semantics of perform_delivery_sendmail vs. perform_delivery_smtp differ

Reported by Francis Irving | September 5th, 2008 @ 05:51 PM | in 3.x

My application expects the default Return-Path to be set the same as From.

This is the case in Rails 2.1 for the peform_delivery_smtp function, but not for perform_delivery_sendmail.

A patch to fix it is here: https://secure.mysociety.org/cvs...

Could you please upload a diff file here - http://rails.lighthouseapp.com/p... ?

    Also, patch is missing tests.

    Thanks.

This patch never got into Rails. Is it still required?
