  This is related to how bzr handles revert backups and cleaning up temporary files. The test suite actually worked until I did a clean-tree --detritus which removed the test files. Although it still does not work with bzr backups

  bzr backups are in the form original_file.html.erb.~1~ which breaks the extension detection code. The extension is detected as erb so valid_extension? does not eliminate this file. I've attached a fix - basically it verifies that when the extensions split is done that it doesn't fall back to the second part if the third part is invalid.

  A breaking test is achieved by doing the following...

  cp ./test/fixtures/test/malformed/malformed.en.html.erb~ ./test/fixtures/test/malformed/malformed.en.html.erb.~1~

  I think this is fixed in 2-3-stable and I'm pretty sure the current master's Path implementation is immune to this bug.

  This is broken in the gem version of 2.3.2 but is fixed in the current master on github (test passed and I glanced at the current implementation and it looks good - ie: it grabs the last extension explicitly using the regex rather than the second to last in the case when that is in the gem)
