Yes - they sure do fail if you break them. The patch is already attached to my ticket 2835.

I actually managed to get these tests running in my patch 2835 - they definitely seemed to run :)

When using LibXML-ruby as the XmlMini backend, cdata elements do not get parsed correctly into the params hash.

e.g.
