link_to_remote sends request even when one cancels confirm in IE 6

When in IE 6, link_to_remote sends request in get mode when someone cancels the confirmation box. This is an example:
link_to_remote "(remove)", :url => {:controller => "my_controller", :action => "remove", :id => my_object}, :method => :delete, :confirm => 'Are you sure?'
Also, when clicking a link_to_function link, it moves the screen to the top, cuz it redirects you to the same url plus a '#'
